I have used databases extensively, and a sizeable chunk of my experience has been with MySQL. I have created multi-tiered software programs that have utilized local MySQL connections using C#,, Java, and C++. I have also developed PHP websites powered by MySQL. The C# program I created was a multi-tiered check out software custom made for a fictitious bike shop during a semester long project. The tiers were each on seperate computers and communicated over a LAN. My experience includes maintenance, relational design, database connections, stored procedures, normalization, aggregation, joins (inner & outer), relationships, indexes, and ERD’s. Lately I have tended to choose MSSQL or SQLite with NHibernate as an object relational mapping library.
