I have used PostScript to develop drivers for printers, plotters, and engravers of various sizes and complexities. The post script driver would have to apply the proper print settings (height, width, crops, duplicates, distortions, effects, etc) to the print data before sending it off to the application port. The port, written in C++ and also by myself, would communicate with the device’s .dll file to send the data to print or cut.
